Dining 101

We’re committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive dining experience for all. We follow Vermont Department of Health regulations and align with UVM’s Our Common Ground values to ensure our operations reflect care, respect, and responsibility. Our all-you-care-to-eat dining halls include: Central Campus Dining, Harris Millis Dining, Northside Dining, and Redstone Dining

These locations accept: Meals (from your dining plan) Retail Points CAT$cratch Credit/Debit Cards (Note: Cash is not accepted in dining halls) Dining halls are available for dine-in or EcoWare to-go meals.

Midday Closures (between lunch and dinner):

  • Central Campus Dining: 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM
  • Harris Millis Dining: 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM
  • Northside Dining: 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM
  • Redstone Dining: 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM

2025/26 Door Prices are:

  • Breakfast: $7.93
  • Lunch/Brunch: $10.66
  • Dinner: $13.08

Retail locations accept: Retail Points CAT$cratch Credit/Debit Cards Cash (only at Given Bistro and The Marketplace).

Dining Plan Changes: Students may switch dining plans during the first two weeks of each semester. Learn more about your Dining Plan Options.

Retail Points & Discounts: Running low on Retail Points? You can add more anytime through our Shop.

  • Bonus: Additional Retail Points receive a 10% discount at the register when used at any UVM Dining retail location, including: Campus Perk, Cyber Café, Given Bistro, Redstone Market, The Marketplace, University Marche, UVM Dairy Bar, Waterman Market, or Waterman Manor
  • Unused Retail Points roll over semester to semester as long as you're enrolled at UVM.

  • Your CATcard is for your use only—please don’t share it.
  • You must be able to present your CATcard for entry to the Dining Halls. Your 95 number is not a valid form of identification.
  • No outside food or beverages are allowed in dining halls or retail spaces.
  • Use a clean plate or cup for each visit to a station.
  • No refilling personal beverage containers in dining halls (water refill stations are available around campus).
  • In retail locations, purchases are limited to $50 per transaction and $150 per day—please budget accordingly.
  • Service animals are welcome; pets are not permitted.
  • Shirts and shoes are required in all dining locations.
